In the November 2022 general election, Oakland voters passed Measure U, which approved an $850 million general obligation bond for the creation of affordable housing, street improvements, and updates to public facilities. Of this funding, $350 million is dedicated to creating or preserving affordable housing, the largest single allocation for this purpose in Oakland's history. It is estimated that Measure U will fund the construction or acquisition of 2,200 to 2,400 affordable housing units over the next four to six years. Join us for a conversation with a City of Oakland representative and local housing experts to learn more about Oakland's plans to implement Measure U and to get more affordable housing built for Oakland residents.
