The decisions that the City and County of San Francisco makes — and its capacity to implement those decisions effectively — directly affect the lives of hundreds of thousands of people every day. In a new report, SPUR examines how governance choices that have been made over time have distributed authority and maximized oversight, leading to policies that don’t always meet the needs of the people they intend to serve. This report puts forward eight recommendations that can help the City and County of San Francisco’s government work better.
Join us for an advanced preview of the report and a conversation about how we can design our governance structure to work better for the people of San Francisco.
Speakers:
- Nicole Neditch / Governance and Economy Policy Director, SPUR
- Alicia John-Baptiste / President and CEO, SPUR
