DESCRIPTION: In our 2024 paper, Small and Mighty, SPUR identified seven interventions that would support the small business sector in San Francisco. They included expanding small business assistance programs, eliminating fees, improving permitting, expanding programs to lease vacant spaces, and providing financing to entrepreneurs. Since then, city officials, foundations, nonprofits, and community leaders have been working in partnership to tackle the regulatory and funding gaps we identified and create a business-friendly environment. Learn more about how these reforms and upcoming initiatives will accelerate economic development goals in the city's core.\n\n\n\nModerator: Sujata Srivastava / Chief Policy Officer, SPUR\nLaurel Arvanitidis / Director of Business Development, SF Office of Economic and Workforce Development\nSimon Bertrang / Executive Director, SF New Deal\nRich Lee / Small Business Owner, The Wild Fox\nTony Tolentino / Vice President of Global Philanthropy, JP Morgan Chase\n\n\nFor details, click here: https://spur.secure.nonprofitsoapbox.com/component/events/event/553
